Morph Box: A Participatory Design Project
The Goal
Gain exposure to interdisciplinary research buffeted by participatory design (PD) and Human Centered Design (HCD). Deep end on participatory models and design techniques to appropriate for extensive research.
The Project
Study the participatory issues surrounding a site and develop a design that would make that place more participatory. However, we did not directly intervene in these contexts since the scope of the project could not support the depth a truly participatory design would deserve.
The Scope
Reflecting upon PD issues, I realized they were a reality for my old dorm community. To better understand the issues surrounding a place I used to call home and get closure for some of the difficulties that happened, I decided to return to the Honors Residential Commons (HRC) and rallied some others to join in adopting it as the project site.
